DIVERSE. CURIOUS. STRATEGIC. INSPIRED. PLANNING AND DESIGN FOR A BETTER WORLD.
Under the design and event planning of PHI DESIGN GROUP, RESERVE MODERN EVENT RENTAL participated in the 60th Anniversary of SASAKI, a design firm who focuses on architecture, interior design, planning, urban design, landscape architecture, graphic design, and civil engineering, as well as financial planning and software development. They had had a series of events leading up to their “grand event” and INSPIRED was PHI DESIGN GROUP’s call to arms. They chose to design an event that not only celebrated SASAKI’s excellence and cutting-edge aesthetic but also its humor, its people and its culture. They specifically focused on urban and organic materials, parklets and green spaces as well as used gnomes, mid-century and modern styling to create a quirky and hip environment.
Parklets are temporary/seasonal or permanent fixtures intended for people and offer a place to stop, to sit, and to rest while enjoying the atmosphere of the city around them. They are generally in places where current urban parks are lacking or where existing sidewalks are not wide enough to accommodate vibrant street life activities. They are small spaces serving as an extension of a sidewalk meant to provide amenities and green space for people using the street. They are also often used to provide greenery, art installations or some other visual amenity to urban street. The first one-day parklet installation was created back in 2005 as an unofficial activist project by Rebar art and design studio, by feeding a parking meter with coins, unrolling grass sod, and placing a potted tree on top.
The design focal points consisted of a PARKLET LOUNGE using our Lounge No. 1 Collection, PERSPECTIVE MIRROR BAR with MODFARM FACADES and BURST CHANDIES, URBAN PICNIC COMMUNAL SEATING with FLY CHANDELIERS and our Ruffle Chair, Custom Gnomie Awards and a DISCO GNOME BAR. The evening was non-stop celebrating as guests danced away to DJ Knife and the team from SASAKI enjoyed a video which featured their diverse staff’s favorite things.
